In Native American culture, Dreamcatchers are protective charms. It is a willow hoop with a net in the shape of a spiderweb. It was said that they "caught any harm that might be in the air as a spider's web catches and holds whatever comes in contact with it." Dreamcatchers are also used to assure good dreams to those who sleep under them. Only the good dreams would pass thru the webbing and the bad dreams would be caught up in it.
